Earlier that evening, the first evening that the Opera Populaire would once again be in business, Erik had sent a letter up to his one confident. Madame Giry, the one person who knew that he was still alive. How she had found out, he knew not. All he knew was that she had one day appeared in his lair as he was writing the score for a new opera. He had sworn her to secrecy, and was glad that thus far she had followed his orders.
The note that he gave to Madame Giry was to be given to Christine, whom he had learned had finally returned to the Opera. The note read as follows:
To one who wishes for the truth,
If you wish to learn the true secret of the Opera Populaire, come to the resting place of a monster at midnight. Come alone, and do not tell a soul of what you are doing.
You will soon learn the truth...
Now Erik was no fool. In case the note was somehow intercepted, he made sure that the note was vague. The resting place of a monster... He looked about the dark room in which he sat at his organ. Yes, that described this place perfectly, for he was the monster. He had also made sure to disguise his handwriting, in hopes of being able to give Christine a surprise should she decide to come. Now... all he had to do was wait.
And so he began to play the instrument before him. As the familiar melody washed over him he began to sing softly.
Night time sharpens, heightens each sensation Darkness wakes and stirs imagination Silently the senses abandon their defenses Helpless to resist the notes I write, for I compose the music of the night
Slowly, gently night unfurls its splendor Grasp it, sense it - tremulous and tender Hearing is believing, Music is decieving Hard as lightning , Soft as candlelight Dare you trust the music of the night
Close your eyes for your eyes will only tell the truth and the truth isn't what you want to see In the dark it is easy to pretend that the truth is what it aught to be
Softly, deftly music shall caress you Hear it, feel it secretly poseess you Open up you mind let your fantasies unwind In this darkness which you know you cannot fight The darkness of the music of the night.
Close your eyes start a journey through a strange new world Leave all thouights of the world you knew before Close your eyes and let music set you free Only then can you belong to me
Floating, falling, sweet intoxication Touch me, trust me, savour each sensation let the dream begin let your darker side give in to the power of the music that I write The power of the music of the night
You alone can make my song take flight Help me make the music of the night

Christine sat at the vanity desk inside the prima donna room, she leaned foreward a look of sadness on her face but especially upon her fair lips.Had it been a wise choice to really return to the Opera Populaire, how could she avoid Raoul knowing full well he was one of the managers but also relieved that Madame Giry had welcomed her back with open arms. She was considered a second daughter after Meg,even though two years have passed she can still remember what happened here so long ago.Standing up from the desk, wearing a light pink dress with white ruffles she heard a faint low singing then remembered the note that was given to her.
Her heart began to beat fast, but could it only be her imagination. No it couldn't be her angel of music it was not possible, but to make sure it meant she would need to travel through the catacombs.Looking towards the door of the room she then looked at the familiar mirror which held a secret passage.Only she knew of it and also Meg and Madame Giry.Walking over to it she could only stare at her reflection before sliding the passage open, slipping inside and closing the mirror behind her.
She walked down the dank hall and on and on,going down the stairs taking the path towards the shallow lake.Upon arriving she could still hear the faint very faint singing, the lake was shallow enough to wade through. She was determined to see if it was indeed her angel or nothing but a ghost's voice echoing off the walls. She stepped into the lake and began to wade through the waters, her beating heart running a mile a minute with each step she took and as she got closer and closer. When she reached the wooden gate to the phantom's lair,Christine looked through the wooden squares and spoke softly.
"Angel of music,is it truly you".

A smile came to Erik's lips when he heard the voice of his angel. She still called him that ridiculous nickname, even after all this time...after all that had happened. It was endearing in a way, but sad in another. Hearing her call him 'angel' only reminded him of what could have been two years ago, had things been different. He felt a wave of desire for the beautiful soprano shoot through him, but he ignored it.
Without turning towards her he continued to play, going into an aria from Don Juan. When he came to the climax of the piece he lifted his fingers from the ivory keys. "Surely you realize by now that I am no angel, mon ange." He shifted on the low bench seat so that he faced her. A sad smile played with his lips, and his famous mask was, as always, in place. "Christine... I'm so glad you came."

"Sorry forgive me,Erik".
Yes it did seem pointless to keep calling him that, after all there was no need for it anymore.Christine had exposed his face to the entire theatre of people, who all looked upon it in horror yet she was the one in the end who showed the most compassion for him.Long ago she proved to Erik she was not afraid of him,and agreed to stay with him as long as Raoul was set free.Listening to him play she recognized the music,it was from the last play that had been put on at the Opera Populaire before the fire.
"I thought I would never hear your voice again".
Reading the note she got from Madame Giry, the writing she must admit was pretty clever even she did not know it was Erik's writing.Still standing in the water and peering through the wooden structure,Christine wondered if he would let her in.She had yearned to be near him once more, ever since she came back she had been abit lonely.

Even though he had invited her here, and she had come, Erik still found this hard to believe. Christine... his Christine had really come back to him. No, that wasn't entirely true. No matter how much he wished it, she was not his. She deserved a man of light, not a monster of darkness like himself. She deserved so much better than he... why was he torturing them both by asking her here? It would be far easier if he just disappeared from her life, never to return.
Standing, the man moved toward her. When he reached the gate he slowly unlocked it, pulling it inward to open it. The entire time he didn't remove his eyes from hers. Oh how he had missed her... "I will always be there, Christine...if you know where to look," he said softly, holding out a gloved hand.

Christine had fled with him after Raoul was free, but she somehow got the feeling that Erik was a little distant from her.Had she truly made the wrong choice of deciding to stay with her guide and guardian, the man who inspired her voice in the first place. And what of Raoul would he still keep his word and try to get her back, why did her heart have to be torn two ways between two men.One killed without mercy or remorse but she gave him hope that he was not alone in this world, that god loved him no matter what. And the other had been her childhood friend, who grew up with her as her father played the violin.
When the gate had opened she took a few steps back, did she want to stay with Erik out of pity for him or did she truly love him.Christine never wanted to have to make a choice again, she wanted to give her heart to one man and leave it with him.Seeing his hand out for her to take, she gave a small smile and slid her hand into his.Her heart had calmed now,no longer running the rate of a scared little rabbit.
"I know you will, please tell me you won't ever leave".

Could he really say that he would never leave her? No, he couldn't. Erik wanted to desperately, but he couldn't bring himself to lie to her. There was, after all, always the chance that something, or someone would pull them apart. The first thing that came to the phantom's mind was that boy...Raoul. He would almost certainly try and get in between him and Christine... well, he could always kill the boy, but that would only make his love hate him. There was no way that she would forgive him for that.
Erik gently pulled her into the room, away from the cold lake. Her clothing was wet from her trip through the water, so he would have to make sure she changed soon. That wasn't a problem, seeing as how he still kept clothing that would fit her small frame. His eyes continued to roam over her body, before once again focusing on her face. Reaching a hand up he removed his mask, letting it fall to the ground next to him. As he fixed his gaze on her again, his eyes filled with pain, fear, and hope.
"If you are sure that this is what you want... than I will never leave you, my love."

She followed him as he led her into the room out of the water, she was soaked and wet but not cold. But she did not want to get sick from staying in wet clothing either,as he looked upon her she did the same and gazed upon him not letting her eyes wander away from his face for one momment.Christine only glanced behind her for a mere second towards the opening, before fully being pulled into the room. Her face turned back towards the phantom no Erik, her love the one she wanted to spend the rest of her days with.Seeing him reach up to his face, removing the mask and letting it fall to the ground she never let that smile leave her face.
"Even now as I stand before you, that face does not haunt me any longer".
Going closer to him till her body touched his,she reached her free hand up and stroked his face lightly. Then letting her hand fall back to her side she closed her eyes and let her lips guide her to his lips till they locked together.Kissing him for just a brief time, she then pulled back now looking away from him her eyes downcast towards the ground.

Erik felt a sense of nervousness fill him as she stepped closer to him. Would she push him away? Slap him? He did deserve to be slapped, that was for sure. By loving her he was taking her away from the light. But when she stroked his cheek the nervous feeling that plagued him was replaced by one of joy, and then one of bliss when she kissed him. But this kiss was over far too quickly for his liking--he hadn't even been able to move his body yet.
Tears filled his eyes, but he knew he would not cry. He had not cried for two years, and didn't want to start again now. He had passed that part of his life...that entire part of his life. He was done killing, done with tormenting those of the opera. Whether or not he could convince others of that was still to be seen. Gently he reached out to place his fingers below her chin, so he could raise her gaze to meet his. A smile formed on his twisted face as he took in her beauty. How someone as fair as this could love a monster like him he could never know.
"I love you," he murmured, before leaning down the small distance to capture her lips with his.

That kiss had been a quick one,she didn't mean for it to be so short.Guess she was still getting over the face that he was here, and that she was here as well.Even if this place is darkness and has dissolved the light,Christine does not fear it.Let him lead her from the light but she will always find her way back to it,can she not have both light and darkness.Perhaps this time round things will become a little more lighter, she was certain he would not kill again and prove to those of the cast and Madame Giry that he has changed. She wanted things to be calm and peaceful,no more blood being spilt.
Christine kept her eyes downcast, but felt his fingers slide under her chin.Raising her face to gaze back up into his eyes, with a I love you from his lips she closed her eyes once more and felt his lips touch hers.Sharing another kiss with Erik made her heart skip a beat, then as it began to beat wildly in her chest.
((sorry writer's block))

{ooc: no problem, I'm getting there myself... >.<}
Lights exploded in his mind as he felt her kiss him back. She really isn't afraid of me, Erik thought, unable to comprehend that fact. She...cared for him too, perhaps even loved him. That was such a foreign thing to him. Even his own mother had hated him, called him a devil's child. She had sworn that he was not possibly her son. She had rejected him with every fiber of her being, an act that he had never recovered from. Even now, he still found it hard to believe that someone could possibly love him.
Erik gently caressed her cheek as he deepened the kiss, pulling her closer with his free hand. No, he would never let her go again...

Christine felt her cheek being caressed, and then the kiss between them deepened. She felt her body being brought closer to his,her heart felt like it was going to jump out of her chest. These feelings running through her body, these emotions welling up only happened when she was with Erik. She hadn't felt this way for so long,it was almost a empty feeling when she was by herself but when she was with Erik she felt complete.Christine deepened the kiss back then parted her lips from his, giving a small smile before speaking.
"Should I not get out of these wet clothes".
Wasn't it the first reason he had brought her up to the room,to let her change from this wet dress that she had waded through the lake in.It was just that she had let her emotions take over, those feelings she could not hide not with him.
((It's a pain XD))

Erik smirked as he remembered her current state. How had he managed to forget such a simple thing? Well, he knew how of course, but he would never say such a thing out loud. He looked down at her dress and frowned slightly. Yes, she really was quite wet indeed. A pity, because he had just started to show her what being with him would be like. And even if she were dry, there were other things to worry about as well. For instance, if she stayed too long, the people of the opera would begin to wonder where she had gone.
And if they remembered what happened two years ago, they would be only too quick to believe that he was alive and well, not dead. What a shame too. He actually wished that they knew, if only so that he could see the face of that insolent boy when he learned the truth. Yes, that was definitely a pleasing prospect. However, it was also not nearly a good enough reason to let others know of his state of being.
"Yes, of course. Forgive me, I had forgotten." He turned his head toward the area that he called a bedroom, before looking back at Christine. "There are clothes in the bureau that you welcome to," he said.

"Thank you,I shall not be long".
Christine knew she couldn't stay down here for long, after all she was now the star of all the productions in the opera populaire.Something that should have been done long ago,but the old managers had been stubborn and did not heed the letters that Erik sent them. And box five now remains empty each play so that Erik can sit there and watch her perform,if so wished to watch or he could listen to her from below the opera house since her voice carried.
Going into the bedroom, she went over to the bureau looking through the clothing she could pick from.Taking out a few dresses she liked,Christine put one up against her slender frame and shook her head then did the same with the other dress.Yes perfect this would do nicely, putting the other one back she went to a corner of the room and began to change.Taking her other dress off then slipping the dry one on,it was a light really light blue with sleeves. She did the ribbons up in the front making sure everything looked alright, picking up her other dress she put it over something to dry.
When she made sure she was done,Christine walked out of the room the dress swishing as she walked. To not get wet on her way back she would probably need to take another way back up to the opera house, she was certain Erik could help her with that.
"I just left the other one in there, hope it's not a bother".

While Christine was in the bedroom changing, Erik was pacing back in forth in front of the organ. A part of him wanted to go and join her, but the better sense in his mind knew that wouldn't be a good idea. They weren't to the point in their relationship where it would be alright for him to watch her get undressed. Actually, he wasn't even sure if there ever was a point in a relationship where it was alright for a man to watch a woman get undressed or dressed.
He supposed that there was a time for that, but he certainly didn't have any idea when that would be. It was probably once a man and woman got married....married.... That word made him nervous. Despite what had just happened between him and Christine, he wasn't sure that it would ever be possible for them to marry. His thoughts were interrupted when Christine came back into the room, looking even more beautiful than before. He smiled softly.
"You look lovely, my angel, Christine."
